**NEW AND IMPROVED DESIGN! Over the years some of our customers have mentioned that many of the pin locks on the market (including ours) were too short for some applications; specifically, if you were trying to use them to attach a pin to an extremely thin material, there was a possibility that the sharp point of the pin post might protrude out past the end of the locking collar. (Some of these shorter pin locks being marketed actually include instructions about having to clip or file down the sharp end of the pin post so it does not protrude and poke the individual wearing the pin!) At the other extreme many people who tried the pin locks that Disney sells indicated that they were too long, adding unnecessary weight and bulk.
Accordingly we decided to redesign our pin locks to be a length that is exactly in between our old pin locks and Disney’s pin locks, which will solve the problem of posts protruding out past the end of the collar, without adding unnecessary bulk and weight. Our new and improved locks are 7mm long.
(Please Note: The product photo shows our old pins locks; shorter and brass in color. We will be posting a photo of the new silver pin locks soon.)

PIN LOCK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Here, for your convenience are complete instructions for installing our pin locks:
There are 3 types of parts each Pin Lock bag:
• 1 - Allen (hex head) Wrench
• 10 - Locking Collars
• 10 - Set Screws (Already partially screwed into the Locking Collars)
Here is how you use them:
• If you hold the locking collar up to the light and look through the opening at either end, usually you will see the setscrew protruding into the open space.
• The first thing to do is to back out the setscrew using the provided Allen wrench and turning counter-clockwise. Back it out until you can see that the end of it is no longer protruding into the space in the opening.
• Next, remove the metal butterfly or rubber clutch from the back of your pin, and push the pin post through whatever material you are attaching the pin to.
• Take a locking collar, and slide it over the pin post that is protruding through the material and hold the collar snug against the fabric. (Make sure that when you slide the collar down onto the pin post that the set screw is situated so it is closest to the fabric. If reversed, and the set screw is situated toward the end of the pin post, you will have difficulty tightening the set screw).
• While holding the locking collar in place, use the hex head wrench to tighten the set screw (turning clockwise), until you feel resistance and it is snug, which tells you that the setscrew has tightened up against the pin post.
• Avoid over-tightening as you could strip the set screw threads, or even bend or break the pin post. Just tighten until snug, and then test it by pulling on the collar to try to pull it off the pin post. Pass this test, and you are done!
